Issues discussed included Greece’s representation at international sector shows, the extension of the tourism season for 2015, the issue of visa-free travel and the extended opening hours of popular sites and museums as of April 1. The alternate tourism minister and GEPOET representatives also discussed issues affecting tour operators and tourist coaches/bus services providers as well as matters of infrastructure on the islands of Crete and Rhodes, which host thousands of tourists each year. GEPOET, which represents travel enterprises in Greece, also discussed the need for the founding of a Chamber of Tourism, and agreed to meet with the minister again in March.
