Travel Trade Athens is organized by the City of Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) in partnership with the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA). It serves as a meeting point for top travel buyers from around the world and leading hoteliers, tourist attractions, travel agents and tour operators in Greece. As registration for the event is coming to an end, organizers expect the participation of 80 buyers — tour operators, travel agents, conference and corporate meetings organizers, etc — from a wide range of countries such as USA, Australia, Brazil, India, Turkey, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Romania. The buyers will be hosted in Athens and have pre-scheduled B2B meetings with suppliers of the Greek travel and tourism sector. According to the organizers, some 160 Greek professionals from all sectors of the industry have applied. Travel Trade Athens this year has no participation cost for Greek enterprises wishing to participate. As well as a full day of meetings, buyers will also have a full day to explore Athens through a choice of FAM trips. Over 3,500 individual business meetings were recorded between hosted buyers and Greek suppliers during the two previous Travel Trade Athens events. The majority of the meetings led to numerous agreements and partnerships between foreign buyers and Greek tourism businesses. The registration for the 3rd edition of Travel Trade Athens is about to close on Friday March 20. Register here. GTP is among the main media sponsors of the event. The Travel Trade Athens event was awarded recently at the Greek Tourism Awards 2015 in the “Strategy & Innovation” category for its successful development of sales and sales strategy.
