Travellers will have the chance to explore European identity through the show, which aims to understand the present through cultures of the past, with Greek and Roman antiquity as a starting point. Under the motto, “What and how can we learn from antiquity”, the show highlights the importance of studying past events as a means to finding solutions to issues affecting Europe today, such as globalization, migration and regionalism. Karlsruhe Badische Landesmuseum is the largest institution for culture, art and state history in the “Baden” part of Baden-Württemberg, southwest Germany. Besides its regular shows, the museum organizes other cultural events in Mediterranean countries aimed at encouraging understanding among different peoples. Athens International Airport was considered an ideal venue for the event, as it is a place where people of different cultures and ethnic identities come together. The “Europe in Dialogue With Antiquity” exhibition, held with the support of the German Embassy in Athens, is open to the public through to March 29 at the Departures Level (Entrance 4, check-in 153-157). Within the framework of the EU Program for Culture, the Eurolog project works with cultural institutions across Europe towards mutual understanding and a common European identity.
