The Region of Crete saw a double win at this year’s Moscow International Exhibition Travel & Tourism (MITT) which is running in Russia. The region was awarded as the “Best Regional Presence” at MITT 2015, by the exhibition’s commercial director, Zeljka Tonljenovic, and also scooped up the TEZ Worldberry 2014 Award for “Best Preferred Destination in Greece” by Tez Tour, a leading tour operator in Russia. This is the first time the Region of Crete participated in MITT with its own stand, continuing the practice followed in recent months at tourism exhibitions in countries which are traditional markets to Greece: WTM in London and ITB in Berlin. At MITT 2015, the region’s representatives held meetings with Russian travel agents, tour operators and journalists from major media outlets, aiming for Crete to maintain its place on the list of top destination choices of Russian travellers. MITT, Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition, attracts over 2,000 participating companies and some 200 destinations and is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. MITT 2015 will wrap up on Saturday, March 21. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
