The Eiffel Tower topped the poll of 2,000 British adults as the destination travellers absolutely have to see. The 277 mile-long Grand Canyon in North America came second, with three UK landmarks — Big Ben, Stonehenge, Houses of Parliament — completing the top five. “Not only does this list of landmarks remind us of how grand and impressive the world is, it can act as a reminder to live life to the full”, Colm Lacy, British Airways’ commercial manager for Gatwick, said. According to the poll, the average adult has seen 10 of the landmarks on the list of 30. However, a 70 percent of adults said that they had not seen enough of the world. Full list of the top 30: 1.
