Hospitality Kountoura: Ministry to Support Small and Medium-sized Tourism Enterprises by GTP editing team 30 March 2015 written by GTP editing team 30 March 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 The Greek ministry that oversees tourism will strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises of the sector, Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura said today in Athens during the general assembly of the Confederation of Greek Enterprises for Rented Villas & Apartments (SEEDDE). According to Ms. Kountoura, the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism will secure European and national funding, as well as special programs with new policies for incentives that will boost domestic tourism and assist tourism professionals of small and medium-sized enterprises. “There are many possibilities”, she said. The alternate tourism minister noted that the ministry will launch a modern and flexible institutional framework to support entrepreneurship and will ensure favorable subsidies for business modernization and personnel training through NSRF programs. Ms. Kountoura also said the ministry would expand social tourism programs and focus more on senior tourism and tourism for people with disabilities. “Small and medium-sized tourism entrepreneurs represent the majority of businesses in tourism. Our goal is to support these businesses and give them new tools to seamlessly continue their contribution to the country’s great development effort”, she said.
