As part of its ongoing social responsibility program, travel group Marine Tours will offer its staff Easter gifts made by the youngsters of the PIKPA Rehabilitation and Children’s Centre.

The PIKPA center, located in the seaside suburb of Glyfada, is a state-run institution currently hosting some 100 children and young people with physical or mental disabilities whose families are unable or refuse to care for.

“Your support of our work and the practical aid offered give us the strength to continue in our effort to improve the children’s quality of life,” Grigoris Stathopoulos, president of non-profit volunteer organisation Tandem, a group of volunteers working with PIKPA, said in a letter to Marine Tours.

“As long as there are friends, we are convinced that the children will find both the warmth they’ve been deprived of and the means to learn, play and grow as they deserve.”

Founded in 1980, Marine Tours’ activities span all sectors of the travel industry. With offices in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra and Heraklion on Crete, the company boasts a network of over 400 cooperating travel agencies in Greece. In 2013, Marine Tours topped the Greek market with an annual turnover exceeding 210 million euros.
