minoan_linesGreek passenger ferry company Minoan Lines informed on Thursday that sailing has been prohibited by the port authorities of Piraeus and Heraklion respectively, due to adverse weather and sea conditions in the Aegean Sea.

Thus, the scheduled itineraries on the route Heraklion – Piraeus – Heraklion on Thursday, April 9, will be suspended.

If the sailing ban is lifted by port authorities by 3pm on Friday, April 10, Minoan will immediately launch extra itineraries. Additionally, Friday evening sailings will be executed at the scheduled times from the ports of Piraeus and Heraklion respectively.

The company notes that if the sailing ban is lifted after 3pm on April 10, only evening schedules will be executed at 9pm from the port of Piraeus and 9:30pm from the port of Heraklion.
