Etihad Airways Appoints New General Manager for Greece

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has appointed Philip Philippou as its new General Manager for Greece.

Mr. Philippou has more than 30 years of travel industry experience in senior sales and marketing roles with major European and Middle Eastern airlines. He joins Etihad Airways from Oleander Travel in the Netherlands.

In his new role, Mr. Philippou will be based in Athens, where he will be responsible for all commercial responsibilities as well as developing relations with the airline’s trade and corporate partners.

He takes over from Dimitrios Karagkioules, who was recently appointed Etihad Airways General Manager for Thailand.

“We are delighted to welcome Philip to our global commercial team”, Etihad Airways’ Vice President Global Sales, Danny Barranger, said.

“His wide-ranging commercial expertise and experience of the region is invaluable and we are confident he will make a significant contribution in continuing to build our presence in Greece.”
