Event News Santorini World Wine Conference to Explore Legal Aspects of the Vine by GTP editing team 8 May 2015 written by GTP editing team 8 May 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 Celebrating three decades dedicated to wine, the International Wine Law Association (AIDV) will host its annual conference on the Greek island of Santorini on October 2-4. To be held at the Petros M Nomikos Conference Center in Firostefani, the International AIDV 2015 Conference on “Global Wine Production, Global Wine Law” brings together AIDV’s 300 members to discuss issues of the sector, while becoming acquainted with the history and culture as well as the gastronomy and wine traditions of the host destination. Among issues to be addressed at the three-day event are international law and its application to the wine sector, its impact on the wine business, legal aspects of the introduction of new technologies and innovation in the wine sector, GMOs and vine clones, protection of wine regions, international trade disputes in the wine sector, the study negotiation protocols, dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as ways to protect terroir and Mediterranean wines. The association’s Governing Council meeting will be held prior to the official opening of the conference on October 1. The conference is organized with the support of the World Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), the Greek Wine Federation, the Municipality of Thira, and Wine & Law Program (Reims).
