China’s Hainan Airlines Gaining Ground

Hainan Airlines is gaining ground against its competitors with a comprehensive international expansion plan that includes the acquisition of 37 new jets and deals with General Electric and Rolls-Royce for engines to power the 30 Boeing 787-9s it plans to order, the media reported.

The fleet expansion is due to be completed in 2018.

Based in Haikou, Hainan Airlines is the People’s Republic of China fourth-largest carrier now operating 19 weekly flights between China and Europe.
