Organised by TIF-Helexpo and the Ermis 1877 Sports Federation with the support of the Thessaloniki Municipality, the 72-hour “race” kicks off at 5pm on May 20, at the southern gate of the Helexpo centre, in a specially designed area. Participants are equipped with a chip that measures the distance achieved and every kilometer is then converted to cash which will go towards the needs of the Greek Children’s Village in Filiro, the Melissa Orphanage for Girls and the city’s Doctors of the World clinic. “The No Finish Line initiative is unprecedented in Greece, as it brings together the love for sports and social responsibility,” Managing Director of TIF-Helexpo Kyriakos Pozrikidis said of the event. The No Finish Line race was launched 15 years ago and is held in cities across the globe with runners raising money to help the underprivileged. For more information (in Greek), press here.
