Greek travellers’ holiday preferences for the Holy Spirit Monday holiday have been revealed by Trivago booking and price comparison site, which showed just what those in Greece have been searching online for their long weekend getaway.

The searches were carried out by Greek users from January 1 to May 19 for trips in the May 29-June 1 period.

The Holy Spirit Monday holiday is on June 1 this year.

According to Trivago, once again, stylish Mykonos Island has topped the list. The top five was completed by Nafplio, Athens, Thessaloniki and Rome (Italy). It should be noted that Greece’s two largest cities — Athens and Thessaloniki — last year were not among the long weekend getaway preferences of the Greeks.

Spetses came up sixth preferred destination on the list followed by Istanbul (Turkey), Parga, Agistri and Pafos (Cyprus).
