According to ELSTAT, turnover in Greek travel agencies, tour operators, reservation services and related activities reported a 23 percent rise compared to the corresponding index in 2014, against an 11.3 percent rise recorded when comparing the corresponding period of 2014 to 2013. Meanwhile, turnover in accommodation and food services in Greece reported a 6 percent increase in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the corresponding index in 2014, against a 44.9 percent rise recorded when comparing the corresponding period of 2014 to 2013. ELSTAT noted that due to the sector’s seasonality factor, turnover in the first quarter of 2015 in accommodation and food services showed a 29.9 percent drop when compared to the index in the fourth quarter of 2014. Turnover in aviation for the first quarter of 2015 increased by 3.1 percent compared to the corresponding index of the first quarter in 2014, against a 0.5 percent rise recorded when comparing the corresponding period of 2014 to 2013.
