Nine Romanian journalists recently were on Skopelos Island in Greece on a familiarization (Fam) trip organized by Spyrou Hotels & Companies.

The fam trip, expected to help increase Skopelos’ presence in the Romanian market, highlighted the island as a holiday destination with unique features that includes unspoilt nature and spotless beaches.

According to Spyrou Hotels, the selection of the journalists was made in cooperation with Romanian tourist agency Aerotravel Lufthansa City Center, partner of the hotel group.

“The 2015 target foresees a quadrupling of the number of Romanian tourists on Skopelos compared to 2014”, said George Mihalis of Spyrou Hotels.

Greece comes in first as a preferred destination for the Romanian travel market for holidays by car. For holidays by airplane from Romania, Greece comes in second, after Turkey.

The fam trip followed Spyrou Hotels’ participation in the TTR Bucharest 2015 tourism exhibition and a well-planned out promotional strategy.
