AEGEAN Airlines has once again been named “Best Regional Airline in Europe” in the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards that took place on Tuesday at the Paris International Airshow. This is the fifth time in a row and sixth time since 2009 AEGEAN has received the World’s Best Regional Airline in Europe honor.

Skytrax World Airline Awards are coveted quality accolades for the world airline industry. Travellers from across the globe take part each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners.

“I would like to thank our passengers for their trust, as well as Aegean’s staff who respond in the best way possible to our demanding and challenging times”, said AEGEAN’s CEO, Dimitris Gerogiannis.

According to Skytrax organizers, AEGEAN maintained its dominance in Europe and also secured a strong second place finish in the global regional airline category.

“This very important international distinction is the result of our continuous effort to improve our competitiveness and proves that Greek companies can stand out internationally, in very demanding and competitive markets”, Mr. Gerogiannis added.

The latest Skytrax awards are based on a survey of 18.89 million airline passengers from around the world who voted across a range of survey topics between September 2014 and May 2015. Airline passengers from more than 105 countries participated in the latest survey, which covered 245 airlines worldwide, from leading international airlines to smaller domestic carriers.
