Event News Young Sailors to Take Spetses by Storm in 1st National Bug Championship by GTP editing team 23 June 2015 written by GTP editing team 23 June 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 9 Pint-sized boats known as “Bugs” will be sailing the waters of Spetses on July 9-12, during the 1st National Bug Championship aimed at promoting sports among the young, fair play, sportsmanship and seamanship. Organized by the Spetses Nautical Club (NOSp), the four-day event features Bug dinghies in races off Agios Mammas beach, depending on the weather conditions. Athletes aged seven to 17 representing sailing clubs from across Greece, will compete for the first national title in the Bug category as defined by the Hellenic Sailing Federation. With a long maritime and sporting tradition, Spetses authorities are very active in organizing sporting events, hosting among others the famed Spetses Classic Yacht Race and the Spetses Mini Marathon.
