HATTA_IMG_1161 (2)“The reality is that tourists are not facing any problems in Greece” and the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) has advised its members to pass this information on to their partners and customers in Greece and abroad.

Due to the recent developments in the country, HATTA on Monday held an emergency meeting with a number of Greek travel agents that deal with inbound and outbound tourism.

Travel agents agreed that unity and composure are essential these days in order to protect Greek tourism and reassure foreign tour operators.

“Greece is Europe and is the most popular and attractive tourism destination”, HATTA said in an announcement following the meeting.

“Tourism should not be an issue for political exploitation if we want to defend and protect the ‘heavy industry’ of our country. We all must take under consideration the best interests of tourism and Greece, when resolving temporary problems .”
