Surveys, Trends & Stats Travelplanet24 – airtickets.gr: Greeks Not Booking Ahead by GTP editing team 2 July 2015 written by GTP editing team 2 July 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 The number of Greeks booking their holidays for the July-September period has dropped by up to 50 percent, according to online agent Travelplanet24 – airtickets.gr. The number of booking cancellations for airline tickets came to 7.2 percent compared to the average daily rate of 1.05 percent between June 27 and July 1, with the figure soaring on June 30 to 22 percent. The online operator’s findings reveal a 60 percent plunge in ferry ticket bookings on June 27, the day the referendum was announced, against a 10 percent increase (compared to 2014) by that date. In the meantime, contrary to the trend, booking traffic from abroad seems to be resilient to the Greek political situation as the number of cancellations remain within the average. Travelplanet24 – airtickets.gr is reminding clients that it accepts all Greek debit and credit cards and continues to issue tickets for all airlines, including low-cost carriers. The company also announced that it will cover the costs of ticket cancellations for its customers in the run-up to Sunday’s referendum. Online travel agents Travelplanet24 and airtickets.gr announced in April, plans to merge with the combined company creating the fifth largest group in Europe, and the largest e-commerce enterprise in Greece.
