Our offices at Athens International Airport and Thessaloniki Airport will continue to issue tickets,” the statement reads. The Turkish carrier, which connects Greece with 276 destinations in 110 countries, adds: “The Greek market is a key priority for the Turkish Airlines, while the company’s strategic planning includes the enhancement of tourism to Greece and its promotion as an international tourist destination.” The statement concludes: “We hope that Greece and the Greeks will eventually overcome this difficult period and return to the path of prosperity and development. We are committed to continue to support Greece by boosting inbound tourism and linking the country with the rest of the world.” Turkish Airlines is one of 37 carriers to stop the sale of tickets earlier this week through local travel agents for fear of the financial risk involved.
