ath_free_wifiAthens International Airport (AIA ) announced on Monday that wireless Internet service (WiFi) is now free in all areas of the airport.

Passengers and visitors in the airport can now enjoy a free connection from their wireless-enabled laptops or mobile devices through the “ATH Free” network.

Also, AIA has announced that it is the first airport worldwide to launch a real-time flight information application through Facebook Messenger.

ATH_MessengerAiming to provide accurate and instant information to the public, Athens Airport has launched the new e-application “ATH Messenger”, which is accessible by simply logging on to Facebook Messenger through mobile, tablet, or laptop. Through the new app, users can receive real-time flight information by using hashtags (#) and special key words (e.g. flight & code number).

Also, simply by sending a Facebook message and keyword to the inbox of the new page www.facebook.com/ATHmessenger, users will receive relevant information and updates on flights of their interest.
