Costa_Navarino_Anax Lounge - TerraceGreece is among the the top 10 “dream destinations” that luxury travellers want to travel to in 2016, according to the results of Virtuoso’s ninth Travel Dreams survey released this month.

Virtuoso is the travel industry’s leading luxury travel network and for nine years has been conducting a Travel Dreams survey, where readers/travelers tell where they want to go.

Greece ranked fifth on the list.

For a “Greek experience”, Virtuoso advisors point to the Peloponnese — “an untrammeled peninsula southwest of Athens” — and also recommend visits to Mount Parnassos, Delphi and Meteora’s monasteries perched on towering rocks.

Over 5,800 luxury travellers participated in the ninth annual survey and the results were published in the July issue of Virtuoso Life.

Following is where luxury travellers are dreaming to go in 2016.

  1. Australia
  2. Italy
  3. New Zealand
  4. France
  5. Greece
  6. Ireland
  7. The Caribbean
  8. Fiji
  9. England
  10. Antarctica
