Goldcar, one of Spain’s leading car hire firms, is adding two more Greek destinations to its list of offices, with plans to invest some 19 million euros in the coming year in the local car rental market.

Goldcar_rental_logoAccording to Goldcar, the strategic decision to enter the Greek market demonstrates the company’s commitment and confidence in the growth prospects of Greece’s tourism sector.

The company has initially set up shop on the Dodecanese island of Rhodes, with a fleet of 880 vehicles, and in Athens, near the airport.

Goldcar has announced plans to expand its presence on the Greek market with offices in Chania and Heraklion on Crete.

With over 30 years experience and 55 offices in eight countries, including Greece, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Malta, Andorra, France and Italy, the Alicante-based company’s Greece plans are part of a 31-million-euro strategy that includes expanding into new European markets, aiming to grow into the Mediterranean’s largest care hire firm.

“It’s a great pleasure for us to extend the rental services we offer to a market that is highly appreciated by European visitors. Holidaying in the Mediterranean is becoming all the more popular year by year and these new hire points will give European tourists the opportunity to find the most advantageous car rental offer,” Goldcar CEO Juan Carlos Azcona said.
