Secretary General for Public Order Dimitris Anagnostakis and HCH President Yiorgos Tsakiris signed the agreement for the establishment of the office, to be located according to reports in a 100m2 space provided by the HCH at Klafthmonos Square. The center, expected to open in a month’s time, will be connected online with central Hellenic Police (ELAS) headquarters and will be manned by foreign language-speaking staff providing tourists with information and assistance on a 24-hour basis. Travelers will be able to file complaints or charges and officers will be able issue certificates directly for lost travel documents. In the meantime, hotels in central Athens will be provided with brochures with relevant safety and guidance information.
