Citing Athens International Airport figures of a 24 percent increase in incoming traffic for the first five months of 2015, the minister told Bloomberg Television that there is an upward trend in tourist traffic compared to 2014, and that Greek tourism is a dynamic industry and Greece remains to be a safe and ideal holiday destination. As part of the ministry’s ongoing actions to gain lost ground due to the recent referendum and political upheaval, Mrs Koutoura spoke of the running national campaign “Happening Now: #GreekSummer” and invited Greece lovers far and wide – whether locals, guests or friends – to visit www.mygreeksummer, share their Greek experience and spread the word.
