The Halkidiki Tourism Organization (HTO) is moving full speed ahead with the promotion of the region through a series of initiatives, inviting dozens of travel writers and bloggers from 15 countries to come experience the magic of Halkidiki for themselves.

Journalists from such diverse media as China Daily, Butikstrender, Hamburger Morgenpost, RAI, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zietung and Tagesspiegel, archaeologists from Italy, and travel bloggers from across the globe prepared presentations of the region following their tours.

Organized in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia, the fam trips included visits to wineries, vineyards and regional manufacturing plants, where they learned more about the production of local products.

Halkidiki saw 40 travel bloggers participate in the “BlogTrottersGR 2015” event.

In the meantime, #halkidiki, #visithalkidiki and #blogtrottersgr got the word out in June, thanks to the 40 travel bloggers who participated in the “BlogTrottersGR 2015” event, which closed with a massive beach party.

German journalists, meanwhile, had the chance to meet up with local artists, visit remote villages and isolated beaches, and learn more about the folklore of the region while indulging in homemade delicacies unique to Macedonia.

The HTO is currently working together with Marketing Greece for the creation of a far-reaching social media project.
