The satisfaction rating for Greek hotels in the first six months of 2015 was at 84.3 percent. According to the data, accommodation in the northern Greece region of Epirus won over visitors with a rating of 89.6 percent, followed by the Cyclades at 8 percent. Overall satisfaction for Greece was higher than rival destinations. Meanwhile, the value for money, location, service and food-drink indexes remained at the same levels as before for both Greece and rival destinations. In July, Santorini, Mykonos, Cyclades, Crete, Halkidiki, the Dodecanese and the Ionian overshadowed rival destinations. In the meantime, Athens continued to lag behind Istanbul and Barcelona, but was still ahead of Rome. Furthermore, through a study conducted to determine whether tourism services were affected by the uncertainty in Greece from the closing of the country’s banks and the imposition of capital controls during the week after the government announced a referendum (from June 27 to July 5) and during the period that followed (July 6 to July 31), it was found that there was practically no impact on customer satisfaction in Greece, which remained at very high levels.
