Vassiliki Thanou, a supreme court justice and the first woman to hold the premiership, has been appointed Prime Minister. The new government takes over today and will govern to the elections, which will take place in approximately three weeks. Singer Alkistis Protopsalti has been named Alternate Tourism Minister in the new caretaker government. Caretaker Cabinet: Foreign Minister: Petros Molyviatis Finance Minister: George Chouliarakis, a senior official in Greece’s debt negotiating team.
