Culture Greek Travel Agents Want Info on Site Fees Ahead of New Season by GTP editing team 15 September 2015 written by GTP editing team 15 September 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 11 Photo @ Aggeliki Koronaiou Greek travel agents are expressing their concerns over recent announcements about an imminent increase in the price of tickets at museums and major archaeological sites. The Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) has repeatedly called on the culture ministry to provide accurate and timely information concerning admission fees to Greek tourist attractions, including museums and archaeological sites, as its members are currently booking tourist packages for 2016. HATTA further stresses that any admission fee price hike should not burden the visitor as they are already paying more due to the additional VAT increase, which is in the meantime making the Greek tourist product uncompetitive. The association’s demands include ticket purchases via web banking and credit card applicable at all sites and not just at the Acropolis, the acceptance of advance payment of part of the ticket price as well as the launch of an e-ticket which can also serve as a souvenir of the visit. Election Day Hours HATTA also informs that on election day, Sunday, September 20, museums and sites countrywide will be open from 9am to 4pm (for those on double shifts) and between 8am and 3pm (for those on single shifts).
