Avis Hellas Keeps Company Car Rates Down, Absorbs VAT Hike

Major car rental company Avis Hellas announced that it is keeping its company car rates down by absorbing the 5 percent increase of value added tax (VAT) to its insurance policies.

In efforts to support its clients and meet their needs, Avis will not incorporate the VAT hike into to its rates.

The leading car rental company in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, with more than 30 years’ experience in the car rental industry, Avis Europe serves over 8 million customers annually through a network spanning 168 countries.

In Greece, it operates a network of 78 rental stations country-wide with a fleet of 30,000 vehicles and its main activities include car rentals, leasing, used car sales, financing of car merchants and retail sales and cargo van rental services.

According to a bill passed in Greek parliament recently, VAT on car insurance now comes to 15 percent compared to 10 percent.
