IMTEC (International Medical Tourism Exhibition Conference), the largest international conference and exhibition of medical tourism, brings together the leaders in the medical tourism industry at an event designed to create maximum interaction and meeting opportunities where governments, hospitals, tourism authorities, insurance services, consultants can promote their brands, meet potential customers and entertain existing clients. A key pillar of ELITOUR’s promotional strategy in foreign markets is to promote Greece as an upcoming medical tourism destination through the council’s participation in major international conferences and exhibitions such as IMTEC. “We are proud that for the first time that Greece will have a highly organized and dynamic presence in a world class exhibition through ELITOUR”, the council’s president, Yiorgos Stamatiou, said in an announcement. Members of ELITOUR that will participate in IMTEC include IASO Group, Athens Medical Group, Euromedica Group, Eurodentica Specialized Dental Care and Zante Medical Care. “Our country has all the necessary factors for the development of medical tourism: high scientific level, excellent medical practices, cutting-edge technologies and excellent tourism infrastructure”, Mr Stamatiou added. ELITOUR’s participation is supported by the Greek Tourism Ministry and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). A founding member of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, ELITOUR is an Athens-based non-governmental organisation promoting health tourism in Greece, through cooperation with respective bodies abroad on global issues related to medical tourism.
