During a recent ceremony held in Athens, AEGEAN and Olympic Air were awarded the Green Certificate in IATA’s Fast Travel Program. The program vision is that by 2020, 80 percent of global passengers will be offered with a complete, relevant Self-Service suite throughout their journey. AEGEAN is the 6th carrier and Olympic Air the 7th carrier among 79 IATA members in Europe to be awarded the certificate. IATA’s Fast Travel Program addresses passenger demands for more choice, convenience, and control through self-service options in the following areas: self-check-in and/or automatic check-in, bags ready-to-go, document check, flight re-booking, self-boarding and bag recovery. AEGEAN and Olympic Air are the first airlines in Greece to attain the Green ranking in the Fast Travel Program by meeting criteria for self-check-in, bag recovery and bags ready-to-go at Athens International Airport. Travellers flying AEGEAN and Olympic Air from Athens International airport can print their baggage tags through the Self Service Kiosk and drop off their baggage at the dedicated Self Tagging Drop off counters. Both companies are currently working on the next projects, which include Self–boarding, the Home Printed Baggage Tag and the Automated Check-in service. “AEGEAN has been at the forefront of advanced passenger experience in Greece through the use of the newest technologies”, said Mr. Panos Nicolaidis, Ground Operations Director of AEGEAN and Olympic Air. “We will continue to work on strengthening our cooperation with airports and enhancing our services to enable passengers to enjoy the best travel experience with AEGEAN and Olympic Air from check-in to boarding.” Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
