The award was received by the Halkidiki Tourism Organization (HTO), which in cooperation with the Agenzia di Viaggi tourism network presented the region’s tourism and cultural offerings. The HTO will promote the region and its happenings through the same magazine throughout next year. In the meantime, RAI International is currently filming in Halkidiki, for a five-episode production dedicated to Aristotle and Alexander the Great. Regions to be covered include Serres, Thessaloniki and Pella. At the same time, as part of its ongoing promotional efforts, the HTO is also organizing food events for the promotion of local products and gastronomy with the most recent initiative hosting journalists from Italian magazine Bell’ Europa, who explored the concept of “Slow Food and Nature” by sampling, among others, monastic cuisine at Mt Athos and visiting farms and local producers.
