Princess Cruises, represented in Greece by Athens-based Amphitrion Group, announced that its new China-based ship will carry the name “Majestic Princess”.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 143,000-ton vessel will be the first catering specifically to Chinese guests while incorporating a unique blend of international and Chinese features appealing to families and multi-generational travelers. Additional details about the new ship’s features and deployment schedule will be announced in the coming months.

“The name ‘Majestic Princess’ is well suited to the Princess Cruises experience in China, and she will offer a truly magnificent experience to our Chinese guests,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises.

A sister ship to “Royal Princess” and “Regal Princess”, the “Majestic Princess” will carry 3,560 guests for cruises to Japan and Korea, and will offer an international flavour including international cuisine, a festival celebrating dance, music and crafts of exotic cultures, an array of international guest entertainers, and Las Vegas-style production shows.

A global cruise and tour company operating a fleet of 18 ships, Princess Cruises carries 1.7 million guests annually to more than 360 destinations worldwide on more than 150 itineraries.

Amphitrion Group of Companies is a leading travel and tourism organization providing full-ranged, global service through its network of eight offices in Greece and abroad.
