Utilizing data into the visitation and popularity of sites across Greece, the CAC has decided to issue passes for archaeological sites, museums and monuments in 17 areas and regions including Athens, Thessaloniki, Argolida, Imathia, Messinia, Ioannina, Preveza, Dodecanese, Cyclades, Crete, Corfu and Samos. In efforts to promote lesser known sites, the KAS has decided to include in the two- to five-day passes at least one highly visited archaeological site or museum as well as museums and sites that attract fewer visitors. All-in-one ticket prices may range from 30 euros to three euros for reduced and student passes. In the meantime, the culture ministry announced earlier this month that admission fees at sites and museums in Athens would cost approximately 66 percent more and would double at other popular attractions starting in April to November 2016, with a 50 percent discount for the rest of the year.
