According to data released by AIA on Friday, both domestic and international passengers grew at a similar pace of 9 percent and 10.8 percent, respectively. “Foreign visitors enjoyed a rise of 13 percent, whereas Greek travellers also increased their air trips by 9 percent, their demand for international travel being the determinant factor for this increase”, AIA said in an announcement. Overall, during the period January-October, the airport’s traffic reached 15.7 million passengers, surpassing prior-year levels by 19.8 percent, with domestic travellers increasing by 22.9 percent and international passengers by 18.3 percent. Greek travellers demonstrated a rise of 11 percent, while foreign visitors grew by 26 percent.
