Lufthansa to Fly to Santorini and Corfu in Summer 2016

Lufthansa recently announced the expansion of its summer program for Greece with the addition of flights to Santorini and Corfu in summer 2016.

“We are very satisfied with the traffic to and from Greece. Greek tourism is constantly rising and Lufthansa actively supports the increased demand”, Lufthansa’s Harro Julius Petersen, Director Passenger Sales for Greece and Cyprus, said.

The German airline will connect Santorini and Corfu to Munich once a week in order to accommodate the increased demand for the Greek islands for leisure travelers during the summer. According to the airline, these two seasonal flights will launch in mid-May 2016.

The first flight to Santorini will take off from Munich on Saturday, May 14, at 14:40 (local time) and arrive in Santorini at 18:15 (local time). It will then depart for Germany at 19:05.

The first flight to Corfu will depart from Munich on Sunday, May 15, at 6:45 (local time) and arrive in Corfu at 9:40 (local time). Nearly one hour later it will depart to Germany.

Both routes are scheduled to continue throughout the course of the airline’s summer program.

“This summer we increased capacity in Greece by 16 percent and maintained occupancy of close to 90 percent… For Lufthansa Greece is a country with great prospects for further development of travel movement,” Mr Petersen added.
