During her speech, Ms. Kountoura referred to the high importance of the terminal, which will allow the port of Corfu to accommodate more ships as the island is among the main destinations selected by leading cruise companies. She highlighted that the development of marine tourism in Greece is among the key objectives of her strategy and that ministry’s top priority is to improve the quality of services and support infrastructure. While on Corfu, the alternate tourism minister was informed on the island’s tourism issues during meetings with the island’s town mayor, vice governor and tourism professionals.
