His appointment follows the resignation of Panos Livadas, who had stepped down as GNTO Secretary General in late October. Tryfonopoulos was born in 1969 in Athens. He has over 20 years experience in the private sector, having served in senior and senior executive positions in Greek and multinational companies such as Hellenic Postbank, Eurobank Ergasias, Post Insurance (Subsidiary Brokerage-Insurance Company of TT and ELTA), Groupama Phoenix, Estee Lauder Hellas, etc. He holds an MBA postgraduate degree (Master in Business Administration) from the University of Louisville Kentucky, USA, and speaks two foreign languages (English and French).
