In its 6th year, the European Hospitality Awards represent the most influential and iconic hotels that Europe has to offer and and reward quality, expertise, innovation and class. Amathus Beach Hotel The Amathus Beach Hotel on Rhodes was announced the Best Green Hotel of the Year as it impressed judges by its creative, cool and innovative ideas. Photo source: Amathus Beach Hotel “Their geo-exchange heat recovery system creates free hot water from the sea in summer and they have an olive tree standing within the property for more than 1,200 years,’forcing’ both the architects and the management of the hotel to adapt the plans of construction to protect it”, said Eamon Doherty from Ecolab after announcing Amathus’ win. Grace Santorini Grace Santorini won the award in this year’s newest category Best Boutique Hotel. Grace Santorini is an exclusive boutique hotel on Santorini, perched above the world-famous Caldera with breathtaking views and sumptuous sunsets. “Most judges simply agreed with the fact this Boutique Hotel is ‘effortlessly cool’, and that’s what makes this hotel the absolute winner”, the European Hospitality Awards announcement said.
