Event News Ho, Ho, Ho, Off We Go… @ 2nd Athens Santa Run by GTP editing team 19 November 2015 written by GTP editing team 19 November 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 It’s the most festive run of the year with hundreds of professional and amateur athletes, young and old, donning their Santa gear and heading out for the 2nd Athens Santa Run to take place on Sunday, November 29… and all this for a good cause. Santas of all shapes and sizes will join the 2.5km run, which will kick off at 11.30 am at the City Link in downtown Athens, to raise funds for the Eliza Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Runners can participate with a token fee of 10 euros which will go towards the society’s needs. The aim of the 2nd Athens Santa Race is through participation to raise awareness and demonstrate that joining forces can bring about much-needed social change. The event is jointly organized by Holmes Place health clubs, the Spetses mini Marathon team and the City of Athens Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA). “True to our motto: ‘One Life – Live it Well’ we are jointly organizing the 2nd Athens Santa Run aspiring to establish another institution that promotes physical activity as a lifestyle. The community character of the event best demonstrates the combination of values that Holmes stands for. Let’s make Christmas a celebration of action and social responsibility,” Holmes Place CEO Ellie Flenga said of the event. In the meantime, famed pastry shops Konstandinidis will be treating Athens Santa Run participants to traditional Asia Minor Christmas sweets. Interested in registering for the 2nd Athens Santa Run?
