Aiming to promote the Aegean islands as top luxury destinations, the tourism department of the South Aegean Region will take part in the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) to be held from November 30 to December 3 in Cannes, France.

Staged annually in Cannes, ILTM is the leading ‘by invitation only’  event for the global luxury travel community and each year brings together the world’s most sought after collection of luxury resorts for the most selective international luxury VIP travel buyers. Some 1,300 buyers are expected to participate in the ILTM event this year.

At ILTM, the South Aegean Region will highlight the high quality services offered by the luxury hotels on its islands, considered ideal to attract high-end travellers.

According to Marietta Papavasileiou, Vice Governor of Tourism for the Region of South Aegean, both the Dodecanese and the Cyclades island complexes are home to luxury hotels that can surely boost the tourism profile of each destination.

“The International Luxury Travel Market is the ideal place to network for the promotion of the tourism profile of the South Aegean Region”, Ms. Papavasileiou said in an announcement on Friday.

“We are offering tourism businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and this way highlight the high quality of services offered on our islands.”

A total of 30 luxury hotels located in the Dodecanese and the Cyclades island complexes will be featured in the South Aegean Region’s pavilion at this year’s ILTM. Last year only six hotels from the region participated in the event.
