Event News All Things Sweet at 7th Greek Honey Festival in Athens by GTP editing team 1 December 2015 written by GTP editing team 1 December 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 It’s all about the famed Greek honey, its byproducts and its uses at this year’s Greek Honey & Bee Products Festival, to take place on December 4-6 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Neo Faliro. The annual event brings more than 70 honey producers from across Greece and its islands, experts, chefs, amateurs, and connoisseurs together for three days of events including seminars, honey tasting happenings, children’s shows, cooking, pastry-making and bee-keeping demonstrations as well as workshops. The largest industry event, the 7th Greek Honey & Bee Products Festival aims to promote Greek honey and its byproducts but also to serve as a meeting ground for professionals across sector: from production and trade to food services and customers. Participants will also have the chance to foster business deals with production and distribution companies, producers and equipment suppliers. At the same time, on the sidelines of the festival, the Federation of Greek Beekeepers’ Associations will be holding their 5th National Apiculture Congress, which will focus on issues including the international potential of Greek honey, protecting the bees and their environment, honey as a natural remedy, exporting Greek honey, and the need to legally protect Greek honey. Participants include companies active in production, processing and standardization of honey, bee and wax products enterprises, beekeeping, packaging and standardization equipment manufacturers, cooperatives producing honey and hive products. Opening hours: December 4 – 4pm-9pm, December 5 – 10am-9pm and December 6 – 10am-9pm. Admission fee: 2 euros, free for children under 12 and people with special needs.
