Last month, the airport handled 1.2 million passengers, corresponding to an increase of 15.9 percent compared to prior-year levels. Domestic travellers increased by 20.2 percent, while international passengers also grew strong at 13.3 percent. Foreign visitors and Greek travellers showed a robust rise at the level of 18.4 percent and 15.3 percent respectively. AIA records record-breaking traffic Overall, during the January-November period, the airport carried a record-breaking number of 16.9 million passengers. According to professionals, this performance is the best in the history of AIA and shows an 19.6 percent increase when compared to the same period in 2014. During the first 11 months of the year, domestic travellers increased by 22.7 percent and international passengers by 17.9 percent. Greek travellers demonstrated a rise of 12 percent, while foreign visitors grew by 26 percent.
