Event News Travel Massive Crete Takes Off, Announces First Event by GTP editing team 2 December 2015 written by GTP editing team 2 December 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 20 Aiming to promote Crete as a unique tourism destination that is attractive during all four seasons, the newly-launched Travel Massive Crete chapter has announced its first event and theme for 2016. Travel Massive Crete is the local chapter of Travel Massive, a worldwide network of meet-up events for travel professionals, which has been running successfully since 2010. It currently has between 15,000 to 20,000 members worldwide and 80 community chapters across the globe. Events are free and open to people from all areas of the travel industry. #Crete4Seasons The Crete chapter has announced that its theme for 2016 will be #Crete4Seasons. “Our long-term goal and challenge is to find a way to attract tourists to Crete throughout the whole year”, an announcement by Travel Massive Crete chapter said. Travel Massive Crete’s first event will take place in three different cities on the island — Chania, Rethymno and Heraklion — under the title “How can social media contribute to the promotion of tourism” and include international speakers, seminars and lots of discussion. The events will take place in Chania on Friday, December 4, (6pm-9pm) at CoME Cafe Bar; in Rethymno on Saturday, December 5 (12 noon-2pm) at Living Room Lounge Cafe; and in Heraklion on Sunday, December 6 (12 noon-2pm) at Marina Café. Travel Massive Crete aims to create a community of individuals who are enthusiastic about travel, including bloggers, tour companies, media, tech, travel agents, start-ups, etc. The Travel Massive Crete chapter is led by Ioannis Bras.
