The heads of the Greek National Tourism Organization Offices (GNTO) abroad last week attended a meeting in Athens to discuss the framework of actions the country plans to follow next year in an attempt to extend the tourism season from March 1 to November 30.

The meeting, held at the GNTO office in Athens, was headed by Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura and GNTO General Secretary Dimitris Tryfonopoulos.

According to an announcement by the tourism ministry, the strategy Greece will follow in 2016 will include a series of actions that will focus on the international promotion of the tourism brandname “Greece” along with the showcasing of new Greek destinations and alternative forms of tourism.

All actions will be carried out based on the qualities and opportunities of each target market abroad, the announcement read.
