All events will take place from 10am until 3pm on the 24th and 31st of December at the Departures Level. The airport’s holiday program of events will include two Christmas characters — the acrobat Christmas Elf and the living toy Miss Carousel — to entertain, hand out wish cards and pose for photos with children and adults; a living statue waiting at the airport’s entrance points for passengers and airport visitors to “wind it to life”; and a festive “transformation booth” available to passengers and visitors that want to dress up festively and say “cheese” to the lens (at the Departures Level – Entrance 2 – ticket control areas 54-55). Music performances On Christmas Eve, the Experimental Music School of Pallini will perform traditional Christmas carols and on New Year’s Eve, the Greek band Vanila Swing will say farewell to 2015 and welcome 2016 with a live swing concert featuring rock’n’ roll, 50s rockabilly and 40s swing with a ‘touch’ of vintage. Both music events will start at 12 noon and wrap up at 1pm at the departure level in the open access area of the airport shopping center. The Christmas and New Year events are part of the Fly me to the Moon concept, a manifold cooperation between AIA and ελculture cultural platform.
