Established in 2008 as an international non-profit trade association based in Brussels, the WTAAA meets twice a year to discuss issues that impact the global travel agency industry and to share common problem-solving strategies. Issues currently being addressed include the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) New Distribution Capability (NDC) and Airline Debit Memos (ADM). The WTAAA is open for membership to a broad range of travel agency associations from across the globe. “The WTAAA has had a longstanding working relationship with the CEAV in supporting the annual summit of travel agency associations presidents, and we welcome CEAV to the membership of the WTAAA as we deepen our important relationship with them,” said WTAAA Chairman Jayson Westbury. “Our existing members, who represent the USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Brazil, Australia and 31 European countries via ECTAA, look forward to working with CEAV to ensure the opinions and concerns of Spanish travel agents are firmly on the WTAAA agenda,” Mr Westbury concluded. On his part, CEAV President Rafael Gallego said: “The global travel agency community faces many challenges in the years ahead and we believe it is important to be at the table with the WTAAA to ensure our views and opinions can be expressed.” The next WTAAA board meeting will take place in early April in Rome.
