Destinations news Greek Private Island Among CNT’s Top 22 by GTP editing team 7 January 2016 written by GTP editing team 7 January 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 A privately-owned Greek island has been selected among the world’s top 22 by Conde Nast Traveler (CNT) for those elite vacationers who seek “utter seclusion and perfect peace, in a location off-limits to everyone”. For the weekly price of 6,700 British pounds, demanding holidaymakers can rent a privately-owned islet and villa in Greece. Belonging to the Petalioi complex of islands, 45 minutes from Athens by speedboat and “a stone’s throw from Evia” opposite the tiny ports of Marmari and Karistos, the private island retreat, comes complete with an in-house chef, full round of staff, organic garden and a calm bay that’s “perfect for swimming or long pied dans l’eau lunches”. The century-old neo-classical villa has belonged to the same Greek family for three generations. Other private islands singled out by CNT for their exclusive offerings include Ariara in the Philippines, Zaya Nurai Island, Abu Dhabi, the Brando in French Polynesia, Indonesia’s Pulau Joyo and Nikoi Island, the Tavanipupu Private Island Resort, Solomon Islands, the Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse in Maine, Nicaragua’s Isleta El Espino, Dolphin Island, Fiji, Necker Island of the British Virgin Islands, Seychelles’ Frégate Island Private and Belize’s Cayo Espanto.
