Event News Turkey’s EMITT Expo Kicks Off on Jan 28, Celebrates 20th Year by GTP editing team 22 January 2016 written by GTP editing team 22 January 2016 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 Celebrating its 20th year and recognized as one of the top five tourism exhibitions in the world, the East Mediterranean Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT is getting ready to bring together the players of the tourism industry at Tuyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul between January 28 – 31 and create a powerful synergy within the sector. “EMITT Tourism Exhibition has become the biggest meeting point not only for the Turkish tourism industry but also for the global tourism industry”, says ITE Turkey Tourism & Travel & Fashion Group Director Hacer Aydın. A total of 4,500 companies, organizations and resorts from a total of 80 countries will participate in EMITT 2016. According to Ms Aydın, in addition to being a commercial platform bringing together the professionals of the sector, EMITT is also an important address for vacation enthusiasts. In addition to the participation of tourism destinations of countries including Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia -Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cuba, Egypt, India, Iran, Italy, Greece, Korea, Maldives, Panama, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam, visitors at EMITT 2016 will be introduced to over 200 tourism destinations from 81 cities in Turkey. “Vacation consumers will both get information about destinations they wish to discover and plan their vacations at lower prices thanks to ‘early booking’ advantages offered at the exhibition”, Ms Aydın adds. The exhibition will be held in 11 halls — equivalent to 70 thousand sqm exhibition space — of the Tuyap Fair and Congress Center and include national pavilions, Turkey’s vacation destinations, winter and outdoor tourism destinations, hotels and tourism centers, tour operators, agencies and hotels. All exhibitors of EMITT 2016 will be ready to showcase a huge variety of interesting and fruitful vacation alternatives to the visitors of the exhibition. Among the main topics of discussion of the event panels to be held alongside EMITT 2016 are: “Brandization in Tourism” (Friday, January 29, 10:30 – 12:30) and “Health Tourism” (Friday, January 29, 14:00 – 16:00). The 19th EMITT Exhibition, which was held in January 2015, hosted a total of 142,100 visitors with the participation of 71 countries and 4,550 organizations, companies and resorts. EMITT is organized by Ekin Fuarcilik and EUF – E Uluslararası Fuarcılık, the affiliates of ITE Turkey, which is the organizer of trade fairs in leading sectors of Turkey. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkish Republic, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines and organized in association with Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD) and supported by KOSGEB.
